Sivakumareswara Temple – Edathirinji – Festival

Sivakumareswara Temple is located at Edathirinji near Irinjalakuda, Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Subrahmania. The annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam (February – March). The festival is known as Pooyam maholsavam.

The shrine has a chathura sreekovil, with a chuttambalam and kodimaram (flag post).

The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Shiva, Goddess Parvathy, Ayyapa, and Ganapathi.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for Kavadi procession, melam, temple folk arts and other rituals associated with Muruga temple festivals. Nearly a dozen caparisoned elephants participate in the annual festival.

The temple is maintained by HDP Samajam.

The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meena Masam.
