Anapuzha Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi Temple – Festival

Anapuzha Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi temple is located at Anapuzha near Kodungallur in Thrissur district, Kerala. This is an ancient temple of Goddess Bhagavathi or Devi. The shrine observes the annual Kumbha Bharani festival (Kumbha Masam – February or March).

The temple has a three tier chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum with a flag pole (kodimaram or dwajasthambam), nalambalam,  namaskara mandapam and a temple pond. The shrine has separate small temples of upa devatas and is like any other traditional Kerala style temple.

The shrine has colorful decorations during the annual festival. The temple organizes various temple rituals including ezhunellippu, Kerala temple folk art forms, pujas and rituals.

Pongala ritual in the temple is held at night.

The shrine organizes various festivities and rituals during Navratri and Thrikarthika festival.
