Gokkadavu Sree Sivapuram Mahadeva temple is located at Gokkadavu near Chittarikkal in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. An important festival in the temple is the annual Mahashivratri in Kumbha Masam (February – March).
A Shivling is worshipped in a square sanctum sanctorum –
chathura sreekovil. There are separate shrines of
Upa Devatas.
The annual festival in the
temple is famous for dhara, homam, navaga panchagavya abhishekam, annadanam, Thiruvathira,
Shiva panchakshara japa lahari and other pujas and rituals observed in Shiva
temples in North Kerala. A Maha Shivratri puja is held at midnight.
The temple is maintained by Kerala Kshetra Samrakshana Samiti.
