Mampuzha Mahadeva Temple – Festival

Mampuzha Mahadeva temple is located at Mampuzha near Kongad West in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. Shivratri is the most important festival in the temple.

The temple has a square sanctum sanctorum with an ancient and powerful Shivling. There are separate shrines of subsidiary deities.

The annual festival is noted for Tantric rituals. Homams, pushpanjali, pujas, dhara and niramala are part of the annual festival.

The shrine also observes Ramayana Masam, Vrischika Mandalakalam and Thiruvathira.
