Valiyakulam Mahadeva temple is located on Ranni – Valiyakulam – Athikkayam road near Cherukulanji in Pathanamthita district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadevar. An important festival in the temple is the annual Mahashivratri in Kumbha Masam (February – March).
A Shivling is worshipped in a square sanctum sanctorum –
chathura sreekovil. There are separate shrines of
Upa Devatas.
The annual festival in the
temple is famous for dhara, homam and other pujas and rituals observed in Shiva
temples in South Kerala.
The temple also observes Ramayana Masam and Mandala Kalam.
