Why is Sri Krishna Blue in Color? Reason for Krishna Being Blue Skinned

Sri Krishna is depicted having blue skin color. Why is he not shown in normal human skin color? Hinduism is full of symbolisms and the blue color is also a symbol. Blue is the color of the infinite. All Hindu gods are an attempt by the human mind to give form to the formless Brahman (The Supreme Truth or God in Hindu Religion). The color blue symbolizes immeasurable and all pervading reality – formless Brahman. Swami Chinmayananda talking on the subject says that whatever is immeasurable can appear to the mortal eye only as blue; thus the cloudless summer sky is blue to us because the endless distance of space is interpreted by the physical eye as blue in color. The blue color thus teaches us that what appears as Krishna is the all pervading reality. Brahman (the Supreme Reality) takes a particular form to satisfy the human mind.

Timeless Wisdom From Hindu World

A collection of timeless wisdom from the Hindu world. Only that Dharma is eternal and immutable which is practiced by the virtuous people whose souls are pained at the sufferings of other beings, and are made happy at the happiness of others. Whether a person is unclean or clean, whatever be the state one is in, if one thinks of or prays to the Lord Vishnu (whose eyes are beautiful like a lotus) one becomes pure externally and internally. Endurance, forgiveness, self-control, non-stealing, cleanliness, control of senses, intelligence, education, truthfulness, non-anger – these are the ten characteristics of Dharma. It is always good to speak in a manner which can please others and make others happy. Is there dearth of words? If we want to increase the love for the lord, then we must cultivate a relationship with Him. The burial ground is creeping towards you every moment. There is no time to waste on regretting your past or being anxious for your future. I

Story Of Origin Of Chandra In Hinduism - Story Of The Birth Of Moon Good

One day while he was meditating, an intense light emitted from the eyes of the sage. The light took the form of a ball and it could not be controlled. Due to it the day never came to an end. All the living beings were confused and there was commotion in the universe. Dikpalakas, the guardians of the eight corners of earth, could not manage and keep the light in check. So they threw the ball of light into the ocean. Thousands of years later, when Devas and Asuras performed the churning of ocean (Samudra Manthan), the ball of light came up and it got a place in sky and was named Chandra, the moon god.
