Ramankary Sastha Temple – Festival

Ramankary Sastha temple, also referred to as Dharmasastha temple, is located at Ramankary in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha. The 8-day annual festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam (February – March).

The annual festival begins on Uthram nakshatra in Kumbha Masam. The festival is famous for melam, Kerala temple folk art forms and unique rituals and pujas associated with Ayyappa temples in the region.

The temple also observes the Ramayana Masam and the annual Mandala Makaravilakku kalam (mid November to mid January).

The temple has a chathura sreekovil, chuttambalam and kodimaram. The murti of Ayyappa is padmasana posture and it faces east.
