Panamoodu Parabrahma Temple – Festival – Kongal Panamood Shiva Temple

Panamoodu Parabrahma temple, also known as Kongal Panamood Shiva temple, is located at Panamoodu near Paravur in Kollam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva. The annual Maha Shivratri festival in Kumbha Masam (February – March) is of great importance here.

Thiruvathira nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam is another important occasion in the temple.

The temple is located amidst the backdrop of Arabian Sea. The temple has chatura sreekovil or square sanctum for all the deities. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapati, Devi, Goddess Bhadra, Nagas and Rakshas.

The annual Shivratri is noted for various homas, abhishekam and other rituals associated with Shiva temples in South Kerala.

Vishu, Vinayaka Chaturthi in Chinga Masam, Navratri and Thrikarthika are important dates in the temple.

The temple also observes Pradosham. Mondays are of great importance in the temple.
