Symbolism And Meaning Of Four Vedas

The essence of all knowledge is hidden in the Vedas and they appeared from the four mouths of Brahma. Here is a look at the meaning and symbolism of the four Vedas.

Rig Veda represents understanding the world around us especially the knowledge of the five elements. It is also learning the meaning of various aspects of nature. For example one has to understand what water is and why it is good for the body. Why something in nature is poison - knowing that everything in nature has a role.

Yajur Veda represents Karma or action. It is making use of the various aspects of nature for the day today life. For example, collecting water to drink. Utilizing the five elements for the welfare of living beings.

Sama Veda represents enjoyment and contentment. What we earn through karma is enjoyed through dharma. We become content after drinking water. We enjoy a song or the playing of musical instrument. We learn to value sharing and caring. Not just hoarding.

Atharva Veda represents how to make sure knowledge, karma, enjoyment and contentment are not lost. It teaches us ways to keep the various forms of five elements for posterity and protect them. It teaches us to take what is needed. It also teaches us to preserve the knowledge and share it with others and future generations.
