Chunangad Kotte Kavu Temple – Festival

Chunangad Kotte Kavu temple, also known as Kottekavu Bhagavathi temple, is located at Chunangad on the Ottappalam – Mannarkkad Road in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The 7-day annual festival in the temple is held in Meena Masam (March – April).

This is a very small shrine with a Chathura sreekovil and a kodimaram. There are no other important structures here.

The annual festival is famous for caparisoned elephants and panchavadyam. Nearly a dozen elephants take part in the annual colorful parade. Performing art forms of temples of Kerala, procession, lamps, lighting and unique pujas and rituals are part of the annual festival.
