Neerakathala Bhadrakali Devi temple is located at Amaravila in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. The most important festival in the temple is annual Meena Bharani which falls in Meena Masam (March – April).
This is a small colorful temple with a
chathura sreekovil. The outer walls of sreekovil are full of sculptures and
they are colorfully painted.
The heavily decorated image of Goddess is taken around the temple to the accompaniment of melam on the head of the temple priest.
Colorful procession and temple art forms are part of the annual festival.
