Mavelikara Puthiyakavu Devi Temple – Festival

Mavelikara Puthiyakavu Devi temple is located at Puthiyakavu in Mavelikkara town in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple is held in Meena Masam and it coincides with the Meena Bharani day.

The sankalpam of Bhagavathi is that of Goddess Bhadrakali.

This a small shrine with a nalambalam, chathura sreekovil, temple pond and namaskara mandapam. There are shrines of upa devatas.

Caparisoned elephant, melam, shakti temple rituals and pujas and ezhunnallathu are part of the annual festival. Nedum kuthira is part of the annual festival. Jeevitha ezhunnallathu and Parayeduppu are part of the festival.

Saptaham, Abhishekam, Navratri pujas and Thrikarthika vilakku are part of the festival calendar in the temple.
