Ittonam Kundukulangara Temple – Festival

Ittonam Kundukulangara Temple is an ancient shrine located in at Ittonam in Thrissur district, Kerala. This is a shrine of Mahadeva Shiva. The annual Shivratri festival (last week of February or first fortnight of March (Malayalam Kumbha Masam) is an important occasion at Kundukulangara temple. This is small beautiful temple with a vatta sreekovil – round sanctum sanctorum. The sreekovil   has an ancient Shivling. The chuttambalam covers only half of the temple. The shrine has a nalambalam. There is an upa devata worshipped here. The Shivratri festival is noted for Tantric and Vedic pujas including dhara, homam, mantras and various other pujas and rituals Fortnightly pradosham, Ramayana Masam, Thrikarthika are of importance in the temple.

Mukti Lakshmi – Goddess of Salvation In Hinduism

You might never come across temples dedicated to Mukti Lakshmi because she is not associated with materialistic wealth. She is the goddess of salvation in Hinduism. People usually see Her in dream. She visits people who intensely wish for salvation. She is always with devotees who have no ulterior motive. She is with people who have no agenda of self-aggrandisement or one-upmanship. The concept of Mukti Lakshmi is very hard to understand to those who have some degree a sense of impoverishment or entitlement. She is always around people who who needs and wants nothing. She can be seen around devotees who always wishes good to all. She likes people who rejoices in the good of others and reaches out to those in pain with a heart as wide as the ocean. She blesses such people with moksha or liberation. Mukti is the ultimate goal of all living beings. Mukti Lakshmi reaches out to us when we are ready to accept liberation.

Vattenad Thiruvanippuram Shiva Temple – Festival

Vattenad Thiruvanippuram Shiva temple is located at Vattenad in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. The annual Shivratri festival held in February or March (Malayalam Kumbha Masam) is the important festival in the temple. This is a small temple with a chathura sreekovil - two tier sanctum sanctorum. Shivling is worshipped in the shrine. Shiva here is Rudra murti. The sankalpam is that of Shiva who has just heard about the death of Goddess Sati and is about destroy the Daksha Yagna. Panjal Kattil Kavu Shiva Temple - Festival

Panjal Kattil Kavu Shiva temple, also known as Kattilkaavu, is an ancient shrine located amidst huge trees at Panjal in Thrissur district, Kerala. This is a shrine of Mahadeva Shiva. The annual Shivratri festival is an important occasion at Kattil Kavu. This is small beautiful temple with a chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. There are no major structures here. There is an upa devata worshipped here. The Shivratri festival is observed with various types of abhishekam, pujas and rituals. Thrikarthika is an important occasion in the temple.

Thrithallur Shiva Temple – Festival

Thrithallur Shiva temple is located at Thrithalloor (Thrithallore) near Vadanappally in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. The annual Shivratri festival is of great importance here and is observed in February or March (Malayalam Kumbha Masam). A Shivling is worshipped in one Sreekovil. The shrine has a chuttambalam, big pond and a namaskara mandapam. There are a couple of Upa Devata shrines including Devi and Ganapathy. Koipallikaranma Kailasapuram Shiva Temple – Festival

Koipallikaranma Kailasapuram Shiva temple is located at Koippalikarazhma in Perungala in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. The annual Shivratri festival is famous for kettukazhcha and pujas and rituals. This is small shrine with a Shivling in chathura sreekovil. The temple is located in the same compound of Koipallikaranma Devi Temple. The shrine observes various rituals and pujas dedicated to Shiva. There are upa devatas in the temple. Venjaramoodu Manikkodu Mahadeva temple is located at Manikkode near Venjaramoodu in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. Rani Tal Shiva Temple At Nahan – Himachal Pradesh – Shivling Appear In The Temple Miraculously

A miraculous Shiva temple is located on the banks of Rani Tal lake in Nahan in Himachal Pradesh. As per the people residing in the region, new Shivlings appear in the yoni pitha from time to time. At present there are seven shivlings in the sanctum sanctorum. Naha is around 62 kms from Ambala. Decorated with black serpents the yoni pitha faces away from the entrance of the temple. There is a youthful Nandi facing the sanctum sanctorum. Pucca Tal Ka Mandir Further up the road from Rani Tal Shiva temple is yet another temple dedicated to Shiva overlooking the Pucca tank. Chotty Mahadeva Temple – Festival

Chotty Mahadeva temple is located at Chotti near Mundakayam in Kottayam district, Kerala. The annual Shivratri festival in (last week of February or March first fortnight) is famous for Kavadiyattam and is known as Chotty Kavadi. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva. The shrine is famous for the annual Pitru Tarpanam ritual on Karkidaka Vavu Bali day. A Shivling is worshipped in the chathura sreekovil. The shrine has a chuttambalam, flag mast or kodimaram and namaskara mandapam. There are separate shrines for Upa Devatas and also a grove for snake worship. The Upa Devatas worshipped in the temple include Ganapathy, Goddess Parvati, Sri Krishna and Nagas in a special kavu. Vithura Mahadeva temple is located at Vithura in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Shiva – Mahadeva and Goddess Bhadrakali. Shivratri festival in Kumbha Masam (February – March) is observed at Vithura Shiva temple. The shrine is a chathura sreekovil with a Shivling. There is a chuttambalam (recently renovated), namaskara mandapam, kodimaram (flag post) and numerous shrines of Upa Devatas. Goddess Bhadrakali has a separate sanctum sanctorum.
