Vaman Puja – Vaman Dwadasi Puja in Ashada Month

Vaman Puja, or Vamana Dwadasi, is observed on the 12th day (Dvadasi day) during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase of moon) in the Ashada Month (June – July). The day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. In 2024, the date of Vaman Puja is July 18 in some regions especially in Maharashtra.

It is popularly believed by some Hindu communities Lord Vamana Deva appeared on the earth as the son of Sage Kashyapa and Aditi on the 12th day during the Shukla Paksha in the Ashara Month (Ashad).
