Arukolaveeran theyyam kolam is a rare theyyam seen during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. As per information, this is a male theyyam. As per Arukolaveeran theyyam story, the person is believed to have met with a violent unnatural death. He might have sacrificed his life for the good of the region or might have come across a divine being in a ferocious form. After the death, the person started creating problems in the region. To keep him calm and to avoid untoward incidents a theyyam is performed annually.
