Embettu Daivam Theyyam – Information – Story Ambettu Daivam Theyyam

Embettu Daivam theyyam, also known as Ambettu Daivam theyyam, is a rare theyyam seen during the annual thira kaliyattam theyyam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod regions of Kerala. As per information, this is a warrior theyyam. Embettu Daivam theyyam story is that of divinity doing selfless service especially associated with hunting or battle. To honor his sacrifice a theyyam is annually performed. It is also said that the aroodam of Ambettu daivam is at a place known as Embettu and hence the name. The theyyam holds a bow and is known to show some aggressive posture.

Embettu Daivam theyyam is annually performed at Narikode Naduvalath Sastha temple on December 1 and December 2.
