Acchamma theyyam is a unique and rare theyyam performed during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in a temple at Pattuvam in Kannur district, Kerala. As per information, this is the theyyam of an elderly lady who lived during the ancient times. The story of Acchamma theyyam is that of her performing a divine and pious act thus turning her into a Daivakkaru. A theyyam is performed for her selfless service, to honor her and to take her blessings.
