Deva Vrata (Dev Vrat) is observed for a year on Chaturdashi tithi or the fourteenth day during a fortnight and is
dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. It helps in removing all sins committed. A
devotee who observes the Devavrata should take only a single meal at night for
a year.
At the end of one year, the devotee should gift clothes and
food to poor children and elderly people. They should also offer food to
animals.
It is believed one who observes the Deva Vrata will get
refuge in the feet of Shiva and will live in his region.
