Brahmapureeswarar Temple at Tirupattur in Tiruchchirapalli District in Tamil Nadu is dedicated to Hindu God Shiva. This is a very unique temple as there are 12 Shivling worshipped in the temple. Brahmapureeswarar Temple is again unique as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are worshipped in a single shrine. Vishnu is worshipped in the Narasimha Avatar form.

Legend has it that Brahma was proud of his creation and brought out a fifth head to have a look at his creation. Shiva was enraged by Brahma creating suffering on earth. Shiva therefore nipped the fifth head of Braham as Kal Bhairav. Brahma repented. Shiva then asked Brahma to worship him in 12 Shivling form at Tirupattur.
