Saptarishi Puja is dedicated to the Saptarishis – the seven
sages. Saptarishi Puja 2024 date is September 8. It is observed on the fifth day
(Pancham Tithi) during the Shukla Paksha or waxing phase of moon in the
Bhadrapada month (August – September). In Nepal and North India , the day marks the final day Hartalika
Teej fasting.
On the Saptarishi Puja day homage is paid to the Sapta
Rishis – the seven sages – Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadhwaja, Vishwamitra, Gauthama,
Jamadagni and Vashishta.
Saptarishi Puja is an important event for many spiritual
organizations in North India .
