Picture of Brass Tantric Yantra

Yantra is an important part of Tantric Worship in India. Below is a picture of Brass Tantric Yantra.

The Sanskrit word Yantra is derived from two words – the root ‘yam’ and ‘trana.’ ‘Yan’ means representing ‘the essence of a concept’ and ‘tra’ means ‘liberation from bondage.’ Once the geometric form is composed, it becomes the symbolic representation of Devi or Shakti.

Yantra is a visualization of a mantra. They contain geometric forms like circles, triangles, dots, petals, lotus etc. Some Yantra also contain minute figurines. They are both use for good purpose and evil purpose.

This particular Yantra is made of metal and is different from the Tantric painted yantras.
