Kunhimangalam Sree Vadakkan Kovval Bhagavathy temple is located at Kunhimangalam in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vadakkathy Bhagavathi theyyam, Chamundi and numerous other deities that are worshipped in sacred places and kavu in the region. The annual theyyam thira festival is held for a couple of days in January.

Vadakkan Kovval Bhagavathy temple are Bali theyyam, Gulikan theyyam, Kannikoru
Makan theyyam, Koodeyullor theyyam, Kundor Chamundi theyyam, Madayil Chamundi
theyyam, Vadakkathy Bhagavathi theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil for the main deity. There are other smaller sreekovils and raised platforms for other deities. Certain deities are worshipped under trees. Sankranti in a Malayalam month is of great importance. There is a well-maintained pond near the temple.
Sree Vadakkankoval Bhagavathi Kshethram is also known as
"Moosarikoval" as the temple belongs to the community
"Moosari", hence the name of the village itself known as
Moosarikoval. Moosarikoval got honoured by the Kerala state government as
"Vengala Pythrika Gramam" as artisans in the village are involved in
making of bronze sculptures and other temple items.

അതിന്റെ ഏഴാമതെ തളിരിൽ ഏഴുപൊന്മുട്ടകളിൽ ആറും വീണുടഞ്ഞ് ആണ്മക്കളും ഏഴാമത്തെ മുട്ടവിരിഞ്ഞ് ഒരു ദേവകന്യാവും പിറന്നു. കൈ മെയ് വളർന്ന
കന്യാവിനു മെയ് തിരണ്ടു. അവളുടെ തിരണ്ടു കല്യാണത്തിനു കറിവെക്കാൻ ആറാങ്ങളമാരും കറിയൂർ കല്വളവിൽ മാനെയ്യാൻ പൊയി. എയ്ത
മാനിന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ ചൊല്ലി ആറാങ്ങളമാരെയും അവരുടെ മച്ചുനിയന്മാർ കൊന്നു. ശോകകോപാർത്തയായ ദേവകന്യാവ്

നെല്ലിക്കാൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം, വടക്കൻ കൊവ്വൽ, മണ്ടൂർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ്റ
എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ സ്ഥാനം നേടി.

മീശയും വെച്ച് വേഷ പ്രഛന്നയായാണു വടക്കെത്തി ഭഗവതിയുടെ പുറപ്പാട്. അർദ്ധപുരുഷ സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിലുള്ള
ഈ ദേവി ചേടകവാൾ, കടുത്തില,
ഏറ്റുകത്തി, തളപ്പ, കയർ, മാൻ തല,
മാൻ കൈ, പരിച, തോക്ക്, മാച്ചി, ചാണകക്കലം, അമ്പ്, വില്ല് തുടങ്ങി 18 ആയുധങ്ങൾ കൈക്കൊണ്ട് രൗദ്ര
നടനമാടുന്നു.

വെള്ളോലക്കുടയാധാരമായാണു
