Pacheni Kovvakkaran Tharavadu Vayanattukulavan Devasthanam Temple – Kaliyattam Thira Theyyam Festival

Pacheni Kovvakkaran Tharavadu Vayanattukulavan Devasthanam temple is located at Pacheni in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vayanattu Kulavan. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 1 to Kumbham 2 (February 13 to Feb 14 or Feb 14 to Feb 15).

This is a small shrine with a chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. There are other smaller structures for other deities including small square raised platforms. Some deities are worshipped under trees.

The main theyyams that can be witnessed at Pacheni Kovvakkaran Tharavadu Vayanattukulavan Devasthanam temple is Vayanattu Kulavan theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
