Elayavoor Sree Chimminiyan Kavu Devasthanam temple is located at Elayavoor in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to various deities that are worshipped in Kavu and Tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for last five days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 26 to Makaram 30 (February 8 to Feb 12).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Elayavoor Sree Chimminiyan Kavu Devasthanam temple are Angakkaran theyyam, Bappuran theyyam, Elayadathu Bhagavathi theyyam, Khandakarnan theyyam, Nagakanni theyyam and Malakari theyyam.
This a small shrine with chathura sreekovils for the main
deities. There are other smaller sreekovils of other deities. Some deities are
worshipped atop square platforms and under trees.
