Chamundikunnu Vishnu Chamundeshwari temple is located at Chamundikunnu in Kasaragod district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Vishnu and Goddess Chamundi. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for five days in Malayalam Vrischika Masam – Vrischikam 11 to Vrischikam 15 (November 27 to December 1). Ottakkolam is performed annually on Mahashivratri Day (February or March).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Chamundikunnu Vishnu Chamundeswari temple are Gulikan theyyam, Kelankulangara Bhagavathi theyyam, Raktha Chamundi theyyam, Padinjare Chamundi theyyam, Poomaruthan theyyam, Thee Chamundi or Ottakolam theyyam and Vishnumoorthi theyyam.
This a small shrine with chathura sreekovils for the main
deities. There are other smaller sreekovils of other deities. Some deities are
worshipped atop square platforms and under trees.
