Kena Upanishad Madhva Bhashya – Interpretation By Madhvacharya

Kena Upanishad Madhva bhashya is the interpretation of Kena Upanishad by Madhvacharya. According to Madhvacharya (also known as Ananda Tirtha – 1197 – 1280 CE), founder of the Dvaita School (Dualistic School) of Hindu philosophy, Brahman is sarva-preraka (induces action) and purna (complete) in itself. In Kena Upanishad, Sadashiva approaches Chaturmukha on Mount Meru and poses three questions: Who directs the mind which runs after things good and bad? Who directs the senses like eyes, ears, etc? At whose behest do men speak? Chaturmukha explains that is Bhagavan Vishnu who has given the power of seeing to the eyes, power of hearing to the ears, power of thinking to the mind, and finally the power of prana to direct all these. It is impossible to know him completely because of his infiniteness. No one knows how he directs the mind, senses, and so on. If anyone claims that he knows Brahman, he knows nothing. Rajju Sarpa Nyaya – Rope – Snake Example In Hinduism – History – Facts

In Hinduism, Rajju Sarpa Nyaya is an advaitic illustration of non-duality. Gaudapadacharya, whose Mandukya Karika is supposed to be the first systematic treatise on Advaita Vedanta, has used this illustration to explain Rajju Sarpa Nyaya. Viniscitayam rajjvam vikalpo vinivartate (II-18) Once the rope is ascertained (superimposed) snake is sibilated.” This illustration is abundantly used in Yoga Vasistha. It was Adi Shankaracharya who made Rajju Sarpa Nyaya popular. Perhaps this is the most appropriate Nyaya (logic) to explain the world as the vivarta, illusory notion of Brahman. Due to ignorance, the rope is mistaken for a snake (in the dark), so Brahman appears as the bewildering mass of phenomena in the world. After Adi Shankaracharya, advaitins belonging to the Bhamati School have mostly used the rope-snake Nyaya in their commentaries. The concept of vivarta is as old as some of the major Upanishads, such as Taittiriya and Svetasvatara Upanishad. But vivarta has been used in its

He who can control his love is all-powerful. Love makes us and shapes us and affects our surroundings, even the material plane. It transforms our entire existence. We must try to cultivate that love, and then gradually the law of love will be revealed to us. Now we are not even aware that there is such a law. And therefore we are so sceptic and we doubt the experiences of the bhaktas. But if we understood the law, many of these so-called miracles would lose their mysterious nature. It would be seen that no effort is produced anywhere without a corresponding cause. But our ignorance makes us unbelievers. And we pride ourselves on our unbelief. We think we are so superior that we do not accept anything without reasoning. But we forget that in our ignorance we do not know how to reason.
