Bhadrakali Theyyam is widely performed in many temples, kavu and tharavadu (traditional homes) during the annual theyyam – thira – kaliyattam festival mainly in Kannur and Kasaragod districts of Kerala. As per information, this theyyam is associated with Goddess Bhadrakali. The story of Bhadrakali theyyam is that of Her appearing to annihilate demon Darikan. This powerful theyyam is worshipped for peace and prosperity. She is also worshipped for victory over enemies and to overcome powerful diseases.
