Chaalkavil Bhagavathy theyyam is a rare theyyam performed during the annual theyyam – thira – kaliyattam festival in Kannur and Kasaragod region of Kerala. The theyyam is mainly performed in tharavadu and kavu. As per information, the theyyam is associated with Goddess Shakti. As per Chaalkavil Bhagavathy theyyam story, she blesses devotees with peace and prosperity. She is also believed to cure contagious diseases. She appears in a ferocious form.
The theyyam is performed at Padannapparathu Kulappurathu Aditiyan Illam Rakteshwari Peedam in Kannur district (പടന്നപ്പറത്ത് കുളപ്പുറത്ത് ആദിത്യന് ഇല്ലം രക്തേശ്വരിപീഠം).
