Athiraalamma Theyyam is a very rare theyyam that is only performed at the Kannur Dharmadam Sree Andallur Kavu during the annual theyyam – kaliyattam festival. As per information, this theyyam is a representation of Goddess Sita Devi along with her children in the forest. As per Athiraalamma Theyyam story she appears along with her two children Luv and Kusha.
There is another belief that this theyyam is dedicated to Kanjikanni who ruled the Athiralan Kotta (fort).

- ഈ തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ കൂടെ കാണുന്ന മക്കള്‍ തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ ലവനും കുശനുമാണെന്നാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം.
- എന്നാല്‍ അതിരാളന്‍ കോട്ട ഭരിച്ചിരുന്ന കഞ്ഞിക്കന്നിയുടെ സ്മരണയുണര്‍ത്തുന്നതാണ് അതിരാളന്‍ ഭഗവതിയെന്ന ഒരു വിശ്വാസവും ഉണ്ടത്രേ.
