Karumbukonam Mudippura Devi Temple – Festival

Karumbukonam Mudippura Devi temple is located at Sreekaryam in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The annual festival in the temple is held during Meena Bharani day in Malayalam Meena Masam. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi or Devi.

This is an ancient temple but renovated as per modern requirements. The sankalpam of Bhagavathy here is that of Goddess Bhadrakali. The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Ganapathy, Navagrahas and Sastha.

The temple has a chathura sreekovil and its roof is covered with colorful sculptures. The upa deva shrines are decorated with sculptures.

The annual Meena Bharani festival is famous for Tantric pujas and rituals especially certain unique rituals that are part of Thiruvananthapuram region. Ezhunnallathu, melam, traditional temple art forms and procession are part of the annual festival. The annual festival is also famous for Pongala ritual held on Pooyam day.
