Azhikode Arayakandipara Pokyarath Bhagavathi Temple – Festival

Azhikode Arayakandipara Pokyarath Bhagavathi temple is located at Arayakandipara in Azhikode south in Kannur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda Masam (April – May).

This is a small Bhagavathi temple which follows traditional rules and regulations. Men must wear mundu and should wear any upper garment. The temple conducts annual festival.

The thidambu of Bhagavathi is taken atop the head of the priest during the annual festival and pujas to the accompaniment of melam.

The main pujas and rituals during the annual festival include Ganapathy homam, guruthi, annadanam, thayambaka, Thiru nirtham and athazha pooja.
