Bhoothakulam Vaikuntapuram Maha Vishnu Temple – Festival

Bhoothakulam Vaikuntapuram Maha Vishnu temple is located at Bhoothakulam (Poothakulam) near Paravur in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Vishnu. The 6-day annual festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Meda Masam.

This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a Chathura sreekovil, namaskara mandapam, chuttambalam, kodimaram and shrines of upa devatas.

The annual festival in the temple begins with kodiyettam and concludes with arattu procession. Dasavatharam charthal is an important ritual during the temple festival. The annual festival is also noted for Vaishnava temple pujas and rituals including various homam, kalasham and abhishekam.

The shrine also observes Sri Krishna Jayanti, Vishu and Thiruvonam festival.
