Madavoor Mahadeva Temple – Festival

Madavoor Mahadeva temple is located on the Kilimanoor-Madavoor road at Madavoor in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Mahadeva – Shiva. The annual 7-day festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Medam Masam (April – May).

The upa devatas worshipped in the temple are Vishnu Bhagavan, Ganapati, Goddess Devi and Nagas (serpents).

This is a beautiful Kerala temple is located amidst paddy fields. This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a kodimaram, chathura sreekovil, chuttambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas.

The shrine observes Mahashivratri, Thiruvathira in Dhanu Masam and Pradosha Vratam.

The annual festival in the temple is famous for ezhunnallathu, caparisoned elephants, melam and Shaiva pujas and rituals.
