Pena Pothi theyyam is a very rare theyyam performed during the annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival in Kannur region of Kerala. As per information, this is a lesser known theyyam and is associated with overcoming difficulties. Pena Pothi theyyam is that of an individual showing extra ordinary behavior in a crisis situation. The theyyam was given a place in a sacred place to calm and keep in happy. A theyyam is performed annually so that he does not create problems in the lives of the people.
