The plant is known as Nayuruvi in Tamil and durgraha, apamarga and adhashalya in Hindi.
The worship with chirchita plant to Navagraha Budha should be performed in the evening when there is moon in the sky. Budha is also worshipped with the leaves of the plant on Wednesday and it is doubly auspicious.
