Karivanchal Veeran Theyyam is a very rare theyyam seen during the theyyam kaliyattam festival performed annually in Kannur and Kasaragod region of Kerala. As per information, this is theyyam of a courageous man who defended the property and wealth of people of a region. Karivanchal Veeran theyyam story is that of him sacrificing his life while fighting enemies. He dies but defeats the enemies and saves the life of people and that of live stocks. For his sacrifice, he is given a place of worship in a kavu (sacred grove). He is also invoked annually through a theyyam to get his blessings.
