Labh Pancham 2018 - Importance and Why Labh Panchami is Observed in Gujarat

Labh Pancham is observed on the fifth day during the waxing phase of moon (Shukla Paksha) in Kartik Month as per traditional Gujarati Calendar. Labh Pancham 2018 date is November 12. It is a festival associated with Diwali especially in Gujarat. People who could not perform Lakshmi Puja and Sharada puja on the Diwali day observe it on the day.

In some regions business establishments and shops are opened on the day after Diwali holidays.

The day is also known as Lakheni Panchmi and Saubhaagya Panchmi.

Prayers are on the day offered to Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi for a prosperous year. In some regions people donate money or clothes or food to the poor on the day.

The first business done on the day is also considered highly auspicious.

The day is also observed as Pandav Panchami in many regions.
