What Time Does The First Bell/Chant Of The Day Rung In Hindu Temple?

The first bell is rung or the chant of the day usually begins at 5:00 AM. But there are no strict or single rule regarding this. There are temples that start the rituals at 3:30 AM. There are temples that open only after sunrise.

Majority of the Hindu temples open at sunrise mostly between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM.

Some important temples around the world have their own specific time. Some temples open at Brahma Muhurta this can be between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM.

Each temple has its own specific time depending on the nature of murti worshipped in the temple and the rituals followed. There are also temples that never close.

Majority of the temples will remain closed during solar and lunar eclipses and will only open for darshan after 9 hours of the eclipse period.

So if you plan to visit a particular temple, then it is always better to find the specific opening time of that temple.
