Manthuruthy Madanthampuran Temple – Festival

Manthuruthy Madanthampuran Temple is located at Manthuruthy near Palode in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva and Bhagavathy. Shivratri is an important annual festival here. The temple has two square sanctums – chathura sreekovil. Both the shrines are given equal importance. There are other upa devatas and a temple pond. The temple organizes various kinds of pujas and rituals on Shivratri. Dhara, homam and various other pujas are part of the day. Kerala traditional folk art and procession are part of the festival. Pottachira Ponmugham Shiva Temple – Festival

Pottachira Ponmugham Shiva temple is located at Pottachira off Pattambi – Cherpulassery road in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to both Shiva and Vishnu. The annual Shivratri is an important festival in the shrine. This is a very old temple with a unique vatta sreekovil for Shiva. The round sanctum sanctorum has a Shivling. Vazhalikkavu Bhagavathy Temple – Vela festival

Vazhalikkavu Bhagavathy temple is located at Vazhalikavu near Painkulam in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual Vela festival in the temple is held in Kumbha Masam. The Vela festival is held on the seventh day after kodiyettam. There are two deities worshipped in the temple north facing Vazhalikkavu Bhagavathy and west facing Nava Kurumba Kavu Bhagavathy. Both the deities have a chathura sreekovil and kodimaram or flag pole. Ramapuram Palliyampuram Mahadeva temple is located at Palliyampuram near Ramapuram in Kottayam district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Mahadevar or Shiva. Kanimangalam Valiyalukkal Bhagavathy temple is located at Kanimangalam on Kodungallur - Shornur road in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple is held on Aswathy nakshatra in Kumbha Masam (February – March). The sankalpam of Bhagavathy here is that of Vana Durga. Mulanjoor Mannathu Kavu – Festival

Mulanjoor Mannathu Kavu temple is located at Mulanjoor near Ottappalam in Palakkad district, Kerala. There are no temples at Mannath Kavu. Huge trees and kalvilakku can be seen here. A deity is worshipped under a tree – believed to be Bhagavathy or Mother Goddess. The annual Kutta Vilakku festival is held in Kumbha Masam. The entire area of Mulanjoor Mannath Kavu is filled with huge trees of various kinds. This place points to the environmental protection which was always part of the culture of Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma). Large numbers of lamps are lit at night on the occasion of the festival here. Thirumalida Mahadeva Temple – Shivratri Festival – Story - Vavu Bali

Thirumalida Mahadeva temple is located on the eastern bank of Manimala River in Mallappally in Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. The temple observes the annual Vavu Bali rituals.
