Thalayi Balagopala Krishna Temple - Festival

Thalayi Balagopala Krishna temple, also known as Balagoplan Kovil, is located at Thalai near Thalassery in Kannur district, Kerala. The annual pratishta dinam in the temple is held in Makaram month. The shrine is dedicated to child form of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. This is a very small temple with only a sreekovil dedicated to the deity. There are no major temple structures apart from the chatura sreekovil. The shrine is close to the Arabian Sea and on the Highway. The annual festival in the temple is held in March and is famous for Melam. The utsava murti of Bhagavan is taken atop a caparisoned elephant.

Arekkavu Bhagavathi Temple – Kalavela Festival - Thalappoli

Arekkavu Bhagavathi temple is located at Arekkavu near Chalavara – Cherpulassery in Palakkad district, Kerala. This is small shrine dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual Kalavela festival in the temple is held in Makaram month (January - February). The Thalappoli festival is held on the next day of Kalavela. Tastefully decorated effigies of Kala (ox) are taken in procession to the temple on the occasion. Melam and caparisoned elephants too are part of the annual festival. The temple has a small sanctum or sreekovil with a murti of Goddess Devi. There are a few upa devatas. The temple also observes Ramayana Masam, Navratri and Thrikarthika festival. The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Malayalam Mithuna Masam (June - July).

Methrukovil Shiva temple - Keezh Thrikkovil Vishnu temple are located at Padinhattummuri in Malappuram district, Kerala. This an ancient temple with two separate shrines dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu. Padinjattumuri temple is located on the banks of Kadalundi River. Akaloor Lakshmi Narasimha Moorthy temple is located at Akalur near Lakkidi in Palakkad district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Lakshmi Narasimha form of Bhagavan Srihari Vishnu. The annual pratishta festival in the temple is held in Makaram month. This is a small temple located amidst beautiful surroundings. The main deity is worshipped inside a vatta sreekovil – round sanctum sanctorum. There is a pond on the side of the shrine known as Thirthakulam. The temple also has upa devatas including Dharma Sastha. The shrine includes a chuttambalam. Sapthaham is held annually in the temple.

What Is Bhagavad Vishayam In Vishnu Worship?

Tiruvaymoli is a masterpiece delineating the godly experience (Bhagavan Vishnu) of a true mystic. The study of this text with its commentaries is termed Bhagavad Vishayam as it explains the greatness of the Supreme Reality and his attributes. As per some scholars, it is also the study of the mystic Tamil outpourings known as Divyaprabandham. But more specifically, the term Bhagavad Vishayam specifically refers to an in-depth study of the commentary on Thiruvaimozhi, a second of Divyaprabandham, composed by Saint Nammalvar, who is the most important of the twelve Alwars in the Sri Vaishnava tradition. Thiruvaimozhi is the magnum opus of Saint Nammalvar and it has inspired the commentaries of many Srivaishnava preceptors both in Sanskrit and in the manipravalam (colloquial) style. Kollampuzha Moorthi Temple

Kollampuzha Moorthi temple is a unique shrine located at Kollampuzha near Attingal in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva and Devi. The temple is open only on Tuesdays and Fridays. Kollampuzha Moorthi temple is an ancient temple. The structure of temple is unique and belongs to ancient Kerala.   Moorthi is worshipped on Friday and Devi is worshipped on Tuesday. Shiva worshipped in the temple is a continuation of ancient nature worship. The deity is worshiped for solution to health issues and also to ward off enemies. Why Goddess Kali Is Known As Kotarakshi?

The system of meditating on Goddess Bhadra Kali has been described in various tantric texts. Goddess Kali is known as Kotarakshi because in battle she is with eyes wide as the hollow of a tree. In the form of Kota Rakshi, the Goddess when in anger and hunger can swallow the entire universe in a single mouthful. This fierce form of Goddess Kali is invoked by tantrics to drive away hurdles and to defeat enemies. In the human body, this form of Bhadrakali resides in the neck and she is supposed to cure all ailments related to it. In this form she is always present on the left side of Rudra. Contemplation of Kotarakshi along with Rudra helps in achieving success. She also gives a devotee the boon of freedom from fear.

Marattil Kottaram Bhagavathy temple is located at Maradu in Kochi – Ernakulam, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali.
