Mulankunnathukavu Ayyappa Temple – Festival

Mulankunnathukavu Ayyappa Temple, also known as Mulamkunnathukavu Dharmasastha Temple, is located at Mulagunnathukavu in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha. The 10-day annual festival in the temple begins on Uthiram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam. The annual festival is more famous important pujas and rituals including utsava bali for five days. This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a chathura sreekovil, nalambalam and temple pond. The main offering in the temple is Ayyappan theeyattu. Ganapathi homam is held for 12 day in Karkidaka Masam. Niramala is conducted on the first Saturday of Dhanu Masam. The upa devata worshipped in the temple is Ganapati. Outside the main complex, there is the Thekkae Ambalam – Shiva, Vishnu and Bhagavati are worshipped here. The sculptures around the Balikkalpura are famous.

Panappamkunnu Durga Devi Temple – Festival

Panappamkunnu Durga Devi Temple is located at Panappamkunnu near Kilimanoor in Thiruvananthapuram District, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga Bhagavathy. The annual festival in the temple is held on Uthram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam and is known as Uthiram utsavam. This is a beautiful temple with a chuttambalam, kodimaram and chathura sreekovil. The temple follows the traditional Kerala style temple architecture. The annual festival is famous for abhishekam, Kalasham, Kalasha Pooja, Kalasabhishekam, procession and melam. The shrine is decorated with lamps and colorful lights on the occasion.

Melattumoozhy Vishnu Sastha Temple – Festival

Melattumoozhy Vishnu Sastha temple is located at Melattumoozhy – Karimkuttikkara near Vamanapuram in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagavan Vishnu and Ayyappa or Sastha. The annual festival in the temple is held on Uthram nakshatra in Kumbha Masam and is known as Uthira utsavam. The shrine is located on the banks of a river. Vishnu has a vatta sreekovil and Sastha has a chathura sreekovil. Both the deities face east. Avittathur Mahadeva Temple – Festival – History

Avittathur Mahadeva temple is located at Avittathur in Thrissur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Shiva. The shrine is one among the 108 Shiva temples in Kerala. The annual festival in the temple ends with Arattu on Thiruvathira nakshatra day in Makaram month. Shiva is worshipped in the form of Kirathamoorthy in the morning, Dakshinamoorthy in the noon and Parvathi Paramasivan in the evening.  The temple is the gramakshetram of Avittathur which was one of the 64 Namboothiri villages in ancient Kerala. Annanad Veluppilly Sree Dharma Sastha Temple – Uthram Festival

Annanad Veluppilly Sree Dharma Sastha temple is located at Annanad in Thrissur district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Ayyappa or Dharmasastha. The annual festival in the temple is held on Uthram nakshatra in Kumbha Masam and is famous as Uthra vilakku. Chorottur Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi Temple – Festival Chorottur Kavu

Chorottur Sri Kurumba Bhagavathi temple, also known as Chorottur Kavu or Adimai Kavu, is located at Chorottur in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi. The annual festival in the temple begins on Uthram nakshatra day in Kumbha Masam and is known as Thalappoli Mahotsavam. The five-day festival concludes on the fifth day after Uthram nakshatra with Thalappoli, ezhunellippua, vela, temple art forms, caparisoned elephants and melam. Ramankary Sastha temple, also referred to as Dharmasastha temple, is located at Ramankary in Alappuzha district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Ayyappa or Sastha.
