Paramatman Suktam is the 32nd chapter of the Vajasaneyi Samhita of Yajurveda. It is so called because its deity is Paramatman or Atman. Swayambhu Brahman is the rishi (seer) of this hymn, which consists of sixteen khandikas (verses). This is a philosophical hymn having basic Vedic concepts. This chapter is considered to be an Upanishad entitled Tadeva from the first two words. Along with the two chapters of Yajurveda, this sukta is used at the performance of sarvamedha (sacrifice ceremony) that ranks higher than even the purushamedha. After performing this ceremony, the householder has to leave his home for the rest of his life. Paramatman Suktam presents the glory of the all-pervading Paramatman (Supreme Brahman).
