Pathaikkara Sri Krishna Temple

Pathaikkara Sri Krishna temple is located at Pathaikkara near Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Ashtami Rohini in Chingamasam is an important festival in the temple. This is a traditional Kerala style temple with a vatta sreekovil which faces east. The temple has a nalambalam, namaskara mandapam and shrines of upa devatas. The shrine observes various festivals associated with Vishnu including Vishu, Ramayana Masam, Niraputhari, Ashtami Rohini, Thiruvonam and Thrikarthika. Ekadashi is of great importance in the shrine. Sri Krishna Janmashtami is observed with much enthusiasm including various pujas, festivities, feast, enactment of the pastimes of Sri Krishna and procession.

Perumon Sri Krishna temple is located at Panayam – Perumon in Kollam district, Kerala. The temple is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. The beautiful Ashtamudi Lake forms backdrop of the temple. The small temple has an east facing sreekovil, kodimaram and shrines of upa devatas. The shrine observes the annual Sri Krishna Jayanti – Gokulashtami festival in Chingamasam with procession and other traditional festivities. Food Served To Devotees At Mantralayam Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt

For devotees of Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt eating food in the Prasadalaya in Mantralayam, the abode of Madhwa saint and theologian Sri Raghavendra Swamy, is as auspicious as paying obeisance to the Brindavana of the Swamy. Food is served in the afternoon and at night daily. Rice, sambar, sweet along with pappu (a thick culinary delight made of Toor dal) and curd rice is served for lunch. For dinner, puliyogare rice, pongal or bisi bele bath are served. After paying obeisance to the Brindavana and offering prayers at the Manchalamma Temple, adjacent to the Sri Raghavendra Swamy mutt, devotees from far and near make a beeline to the Prasadalaya to satiate their hunger. Vyavahara Matrika Of Narada

Narada is known as the author of Smriti text (code of conduct). The first three chapters of Narada Smriti are about judicial role (Vyavahara Matrika) and about judicial meetings. Vyavahara means ‘give and take’ (Udyoga Parva of Mahabharata). According to Apastamba Dharmasutra, another meaning of the word is struggle or lawsuit (Artha, Karya, Vyavaharapada. Can I Use Ceramic Plate In Puja?

There are some doubts regarding the use of plates in Hindu pujas and rituals especially related to use of ceramic utensils. Can I use ceramic plate in Hindu puja? No, plates and materials used in pujas should be made of clay, wood, silver, bronze or gold. Utensils made of plastic and ceramic should not be used in Hindu puja. Utensils made from combining two or metals are to be avoided. Any natural material can be used in Hindu puja including leaves and wooden stem. Banana leaves are widely used in Hindu pujas.

What Kind Of Rice Is Used In Hindu Puja?

Rice is an indispensable part of Hindu puja and rituals. Uncooked broken rice is used when showering over a deity or making offering. Cooked rice is only offered as naivedyam or Prasad or bhog. The type of rice used is unhusked or brown rice. Polished rice should not be used in pujas. Broken rice also should not be used in Hindu pujas. Basmati and white boiled rice are not used in worship and puja. The used rice is usually put under or given to birds. Used rice in puja room should be collected and deposited under a tree.

Patan Char Narayan Temple – Lalitpur Nepal

Patan Char Narayan temple is located at Durbar square at Lalitpur (present name of Patan) in Nepal. The shrine is dedicated to Bhagwan Vishnu. It is one of the oldest temples in the Durbar square and dates back to 1566 CE. In the sanctum sanctorum four different manifestations of Bhagavan Vishnu are carved on a lingam. The Moola Rama murtis (idols or vigraham) worshipped at the Mantralayam Raghavendra Swamy Mutt has an ancient history and great divinity about them. Patan Chandeshwori temple is located near Durbar square at Lalitpur (present name of Patan) in Nepal. The temple believed to have been built in 1667 CE and lies on the banks of a pond. When waves of passion such as desire, lust or fear arise, either try to duck beneath them by self-attention, or else reflect on their uselessness and avoid them by viveka (discrimination) and vairagya (dispassion).
