Morgaon Ganesh Temple Palki Yatra from Mangalmurti temple in Chinchwad

A Palki yatra – with palanquin of Ganesh murti – to the famous MorgaonGaneshTemple is held annually during the Magh Ganesh Jayanti and Bhadrapad Ganesh Chaturthi from the Mangalmurti temple in Chinchwad in Maharashtra. MorgaonGaneshTemple is one among the Ashtavinayak Temples in Maharashtra. Morgaon Ganesh Temple Palki Yatra 2017 date is January 31 and August 25.

Ganapatya saint Morya Gosavi was closely associated with the MorgaonGaneshTemple. It was he who established the famous Mangalmurti temple in Chinchwad. So the annual yatra is sort of thanksgiving. Thousands of people participate in the yatra. The follow the murti of Ganesha to the temple.
Legend has it that MorgaonGaneshTemple came into being after Ganesh overpowered demon Sindhu. It is the first temple visited in the Ashta Vinayak spiritual tour – visiting eight shrines of Ganesh.
The Palki Yatra is spread over two days.

Shiva Comes to Meet Child Sri Ram as Madari

When Vishnu was born as Sri Ram in Ayodhya as son of Dasharatha, Shiva was eager to have a glimpse of the child form of Vishnu. Dasharatha was protective of child Rama and did not allow strangers near him. Shiva takes various forms of Sadhu, astrologer, singer etc to enter palace but is denied. Finally he takes the form of a Madari, a man who entertains people on the street with a monkey.
Legend has it that the monkey that danced for Shiva was Hanuman. Shiva twirls his hourglass-shaped drum and hanuman dances entertaining the crowd.
The news of the monkey and the street performer reaches the palace and they are invited to play for the princes.
Sri Ram sits on the lap of King Dasharatha and watches the performance.
Shiva as Madari is in a blissful state on seeing Vishnu in child form. He twirls the drum ecstatically and dances with the monkey.

Swami Tejomayananda on Does God Exist

The Upanishads refer to God as Ishvara, Bhagavan, Brahman and so on. The Taittiriya Upanishad says, “That from which all beings are born, that by which all beings are sustained and that unto which they merge back is Brahman”.
This beautiful statement means that if there is a creation, a product or effect, the effect must have a cause. Everyone has to accept this. There may be a dispute about the nature of the cause. Something cannot come out of nothing. So if the whole creation is the effect, there has to be something in the origin, a cause. Something exists and that self-evident being has to be accepted. It is this existence or pure being which is God.
Every person has infinite potential. Despite this we find that some people succeed and some fail. The reason is that they do not work to their potential. What is this potential? Do we know the potential of the earth, the water, the sun or other energies? Their potential is infinite. That infinite potential is called God. Swami Tejoma…
