Sri Idappatta Vana Durga Devi Temple – Parudur

Sri Idappatta Vana Durga Devi Temple is located around 2 km from Parudur on the Parudur – Pattambi road in Palakkad district, Kerala. The temple is one among the 108 Durga temples in Kerala.

The concept of Idappatta Vana Durga Devi is unique. She is worshipped on a 1.5 feet high peedom. Devi resides on a Shila in her moola prakriti form in the sreekovil.

The circular sanctum sanctorum (vatta sreekovil) is constructed out of Vettu Kallu. The sreekovil is surrounded by grove.

As per history, the temple earlier had a sreekovil without a roof and a chaturbahu vigraham of Goddess Vana Durga but these were lost over a period of time.

The shrine is now located inside a 2 acre plot.
