Somanath Brata, or Somnath Vrat, is observed in Odisha on the Vijayadasami or Dasara day. The Brata is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Somanath Brata 2024 date is October 12. The ritual is performed by women and includes fasting and reading the story of Somnath. Somanath Brata rituals are held in the evening and various types of offerings are made tp Shiva and this includes a sweet made using wheat, grated coconut, sugar and spices known as Manda Pitha. Other offerings are ten different types of fruits and ten types of flowers. Women fast on the day from sunrise and the fast is broken upon the completion of the puja. Belha Devi Temple at Sadar in Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh – Ma Belha Devi Mandir at Pratapgarh

Belha Devi Temple is located on the banks of Sai River and the temple is dedicated to Ma Belha Devi, who is a manifestation of Mother Goddess Shakti.
