Kolachery Vishwakarma Oorpazhassi Vettakkorumakan temple is located at Kolachery in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Vettakkorumakan and numerous other deities that are commonly worshipped in kavu, sacred places and temples in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for four days in Malayalam Kumbha Masam – Kumbham 7 to Kumbham 10 (February 7 to Feb 10).
Important theyyams that can be witnessed at Kolachery Vishwakarma Oorpazhassi Vettakkorumakan temple are Aryappoonnkanni theyyam, Bali theyyam, Bappiriyan theyyam, Dharma Daivam and Gulikan theyyam, Karinkutti Sasthappan theyyam, Vettakkorumakan theyyam, Oorpazhachi theyyam, Ponmalakkaran theyyam and Pookutty Sasthappan theyyam.
The temple has a chathura sreekovil or square sanctum
sanctorum for the main deity. The roof of the shrine is decorated with
traditional motifs. There are other small square sanctums in the temple
compound. Certain deities are worshipped atop square platforms and under trees.
The important pujas and rituals are observed on Sankranti day as per Malayalam
calendar.
