Kakkara Antholikkavu temple is located at Kakkara - Chundangapoil, Ponniam, in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathy and numerous other deities that are popularly worshiped in kavu and tharavadu in the region. The annual theyyam thira kaliyattam festival is held for two days in Malayalam Makara Masam – Makaram 13 to Makaram 14 (January 27 to January 28).
The main deity is worshipped in a chathura sreekovil – square sanctum sanctorum. There are other sreekovils for other deities. Some important deities are worshipped atop square platforms and under trees. Vishu is an important festival here. Sankranti in every Malayalam month is of great importance.
