Thalavil Pazhayidath Puthiya Bhagavathy Kavu temple is located at Thalavil in Kannur district, Kerala. The shrine is dedicated to Puthiya Bhagavathi, Chamundi, Vishnumoorthi and numerous other deities. The kaliyattam theyyam thira festival is held for three days in Malayalam Meda Masam – Medam 10 to Medam 12 (April 23 to April 25).
The important theyyams that can be witnessed at Thalavil Pazhayidath Puthiya Bhagavathy Kavu temple include Vishnumoorthi theyyam, Veeran theyyam, Bhadrakali theyyam, Kurathi theyyam, Puthiya Bhagavathy theyyam, Veera Kali theyyam and Gulikan theyyam.
The temple has a small chathura sreekovil for the main
deity. The roof of the small shrine is decorated with traditional temple
motifs. There are other smaller sreekovils. Some deities are offered worship
under trees and upon raised platforms. The shrine observes important rituals
and festivities including Sankranti in every month.
