Bengaluru Sri Raghavendra Anjaneya Temple History

Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple was established in 1909 by Sri Sudheendra Tirtha Swamiji of Puthige Matha.

A devotee named Sri Subbaraya had a deformity in his hand. He vowed that if he recovered completely, he would install an idol of Sri Raghavendra Swamiji. True to his word, he carved a stone idol himself and made a solemn resolve. During the time of Annajirao, in 1945, the installation of Sri Raghavendra Swamiji’s idol was carried out in the premises of Sri Anjaneya Swamy Temple. Later, the temple was handed over to the government.

Since then, the temple became popularly known as Sri Raghavendra Anjaneyaswami Temple
